Requirements
for Prior Service Members
General Requirements:Â
- Must qualify for non-regular retired pay by age 60Â
- Must meet height/weight and current medical requirementsÂ
- Must meet education standards for the MOS or option for which you enlistÂ
- Must have most current DD 214, NGB22 or discharge orderÂ
- Must have an approved DD Form 368 Conditional ReleaseÂ

Prior Service Enlistment Bonus
If you enlist into a critical skill MOS, you may eligible for the Prior Service Enlistment Bonus (PSEB). To find out which positions are currently available in your state, contact your local recruiter.Â
Enlisted Affiliation Bonus (Army)
The Enlisted Affiliation Bonus is offered to current enlisted service members who affiliate directly into a critical vacancy in the DC Army National Guard from the Active Army.Â
Officer Affiliation Bonus (Army)
The Officer Affiliation Bonus (OAFB) is offered to officers and warrant officers who are currently on Active Duty and who agree to affiliate into DC Army National Guard into a critical skill position.Â
Re-enlistment Extension Bonus
Current DC Army National Guard Soldiers, both deployed and at home, who extend or immediately re-enlist may be eligible for the Re-enlistment Extension Bonus (REB).Â
Enlisted MOS Conversion Bonus
Current DC Army National Guard Soldiers who volunteer to retrain into a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) that the Guard has identified as having a shortage of trained and qualified personnel are eligible.Â
Officer Accession Bonus
The Officer Accession Bonus (OAB) is offered to newly commissioned officers and newly appointed warrant officers who serve in a traditional status in the DC Army National Guard. If you’re a current Guard enlisted Soldier who has never before held any commission as an officer or appointment as a warrant officer, and accept commission or appointment into a critical skill position, you may qualify.
